        I went on a solo backpacking trip to a nice brook trout lake that I've been to many times. I day hiked to a few other lakes and ended up catching a bunch of. The High Uintas Wilderness Area is by far the largest wilderness area in Utah. It also contains the highest peaks in the Uinta Mountains, and in the state of Utah. Unlike the Western Uintas or High Bollies (Eastern Uintas), most of the routes to the peaks in the High Uintas Wilderness Area are too long for one day climbs, at least for us mortals%(45).

      Created in , the High Uintas Wilderness is comprised of , acres and lined with miles of hiking trails. The wilderness area is accessed via 16 trailheads located off the Mirror Lake Highway and Forest Service roads. The Uintas are dotted with roughly 1, lakes or ponds and more than miles of .   I went on a solo backpacking trip in the High Uintas of Utah to a lake that produces nice brook trout. The hike was a rough one but I was able to catch some nice brookies.
